MAAWD is a unique  group that hopes to combine the educational, social and cultural benefits of the arts to promote the personal, academic and professional growth of people with disabilities.

Mission Statement

To promote , educate and advocate for greater inclusions of artists with disabilities into Manitoba's society and art community.

Objective

To foster and develop creative excellence among artists with disabilities and to promote awareness of and appreciation for art created by persons with disabilities.

Goals

To develop a directory of MAAWD members.

To Promote MAAWD members art works at shows and exhibits.

To host exhibitions where Artist Members and Artist Associates may show their works.

To arrange workshops and lectures with local and visiting artists.

To establish a gallery/studio space where Artist members may exhibit their work.

To work with existing art services, organizations so that they understand disability issues.

To establish mentorship peer support programs for emerging artists with disabilities.
